Capuchinas Mall -
It has a couple of larger stores, and many smaller ones, rangeing from a jewelry store to an artisans´ wares.  There is also a hair salon, barber shoip, and a dentist office.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Nearby Lakes -
There are 3 nearby lakes. This is Lake Sauceda, a smaller one only 15 minutes away. There is fishing and picnicing.  Other nearby lakes include La Laguna good for picnicing (10 minutes away), and the largest is a reservoir called  "La Cuarenta".  It is very large and deep.
 
 
 
 
 
 
La Feria - (the Fair)
It is from late July through early August each year.  There are animal expositions,  sheep auctions, Mariachis. football, roping with the famous Charros of Jalisco, rooster fights, mini-rodeos, a circus, various excellent singing groups that perform in the Arts Theater, art expositions, rides for children and adults, and mucho, mucho mas!
 
 
 
 
 
 
Movie Theater -
It is located in the Capuchinas Mall.  Multi-screen with the latest movies in English and Spanish subtitles.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Internet Cafes -
There is one situated every few blocks throughout the city.  ($0.75-$0.95 an hour)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
City Tour -
There are a couple of options.  First, you can take this quaint, open windowed bus
tour which lasts from 45-60 minutes, or, since the downtown area is relatively small, you may elect to take a walking tour.  Suggestion:  Why not do this on a Friday for an hour with your teacher?  Hey, a free tour guide!
 
 
 
 
 
 
Video Rental -
There are many video stores in the city.  Also, for less than the price of a video rental you can buy DVD movies in the "marcado grande".  Bring your DVD player.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The  "Mariachi"
The Mariachi was born here in the state of Jalisco.  The young lady was the past Queen of our city, and is the daughter of our Profesora Silvia!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Golf -
There are a couple of golf courses about 30 minutes away.  They have agreed to permit our students to play on their green.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Horseback Riding -
Mexico is characterized by the sport of the  "Charría".  You can appreciate it and at the same time enjoy it by going horseback riding along a river on a nearby "Rancho Típico".
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Traditional Jalisco Dances -
You may learn some of them while you are here.  There is an excellent teacher at reasonable prices.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Visit other Towns -
Just 30 minutes to the South is the town of Union de San Antonio.  It´s central park is beautiful and well manicured.  You may find someone selling flowers on one corner.  The locals are so friendly they will talk to you like they know you.  Forty minutes from Lagos is the City of Leon, with a population of about 1.7 million.  It boasts of being the  "shoe capital" of the world. (Mens shoes about $22, and boots about $37 and up).
 
 
 
 
 
Evening Walks -
Lagos is a family oriented city.  Entire families are seen in the evenings walking slowly together down the streets.  Lagos is a peaceful and safe city.
